GENEVA – Suriname and Switzerland topped the list of the top destinations for Brazilian victims of human trafficking, according to Brazil’s Ministry of Justice.
Of the 475 Brazilians – the majority of whom were female – trafficked between 2005-2011, 337 were forced into the sex trade.

Trafficking in persons: “Protect the victims, punish thetraffickers,” UN rights expert urges Belize
BELIZE CITY/ GENEVA (20 December 2013) – The United Nations SpecialRapporteur on trafficking in persons, Joy Ngozi Ezeilo,called on the Government of Belize to adopt a comprehensiveprotection and assistance program for victims oftrafficking, and entrench a culture of zero tolerance forcorruption and complicity of public officials with traffickers.
