An Atlanta woman was sentenced to seven years in federal prison Monday for prostituting a 16-year-old girl in several different states.

Ms. Jessica Loren Posey ran an interstate prostitution ring involving the teen and was sentenced for human trafficking, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.

Problem: Too many sex trafficking victims are not being found or helped in the United States because too many local governments are ignorant of state and federal human trafficking laws. A former stripper accused of trafficking teenagers as prostitutes serving a largely gay clientele has been found guilty of all charges in Georgia.

A Douglas County jury Friday convicted Steven Douglas Lemery, 38, on five counts of human trafficking, three counts of aggravated child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, and pandering by compulsion, the Douglas County Sentinel reports.

Go-go dancer gets 80 years for human trafficking

A former Atlanta go-go dancer was sentenced Wednesday to 80 years in prison and the rest of his life on probation after his conviction in Douglas County for trafficking in victims as young as 15 years old for prostitution, authorities said.
