Denver, Colo., Mar 3, 2013 / 04:03 pm (CNA/EWTN News).-Unprecedented rates of human trafficking can be traced to the rise of abortion, contraception and pornography in modern culture, says a Catholic priest who has researched the topic for nearly a decade.
To combat that notion, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service is trying to educate the public, emergency responders, police and others about programs and tools that can protect and help victims who are in the country illegally.

CHICAGO — Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan (D) joined with her counterparts across the country Dec. 17 to urge Congress to fund the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act to better fight human trafficking and protect its victims.
In July, Operation Cross Country, a nationwide sweep that targeted victims of underage prostitution and their pimps, recovered 105 juveniles and bagged 150 pimps in 76 cities.
